Testpio is an online test platform for coaching institutes in India. Students take exam-style mock tests on their own phones, in Hindi and English, and get ranks, percentiles, solutions and progress reports. Teachers get a question bank, ready-made exam patterns, a live monitor and result analysis.
Who makes it
Testpio is made and operated by Jay Prakash, an independent software developer in India, who also makes Statpio, a website platform for small businesses. Testpio is built and supported from India, for Indian competitive exams.
Why it exists
Testpio started with a family-run coaching institute preparing students for SSC, banking, railways and BPSC exams. Its tests were on paper, students had no exam-like practice, and ranking a batch took hours. Testpio was built to give such institutes what the big online test series have, without their price, and to work on the budget Android phones students actually own, on weak networks, in the language they read.
What Testpio does
- Exam-style mock tests on students' own phones, with a real exam screen, a question palette, mark for review and a server-controlled timer
- Questions in Hindi, English or both: typed, pasted from Excel, or added as screenshots from books and PDFs
- Ready-made patterns for SSC CGL and CHSL, SSC GD, IBPS and SBI PO and Clerk, RRB NTPC and Group D, and BPSC, plus any custom pattern
- Fair ranks and percentiles, answer-key checks and corrections, solutions, and progress reports for students and parents
- A live monitor, extra time for a student whose battery died, and results in Excel
- Each institute's data kept separate, with answer keys never sent to students before results
Fairness
The server keeps the time, a test can be open on only one device at a time, every answer is confirmed by the server before it counts, and questions and options can be shuffled for each student.
